    Simple, if it comes to the point where you have to offer proof. Either you are making payments to the company, in which you have canceled checks or debits in your bank statement, or your employer is deducting the payments from your paychecks, in which case the deduction is shown on your pay stub.

    You don’t have to offer any proof to put the deduction in your tax return in Schedule A.
