This book is an excellent guide to help in self-hypnosis if that is all you are looking for. In my opinion, it is far better to take one more step futher and use yoga practice as well. Yoga is basically the foundation of self-hypnotism and there are several good books available on Amazon that have these techniques. Look at some of my other reviews to find out.
However, being focused on hypnotism by itself, it is an excellent document which helps customize the process to the needs of the potential operator of these sessions. It is insightful and helful. Still I think it is far more beneficial for anyone seeking self-hypnotism to seek yoga following reading this book.

Compared with the other books in this field, the book is excellent–rich theory and clear instruction. But the structure is not that clear. Yet I enjoy reading it very much.

It gives inductions, fundamentals and also does a nice job of leading the lay person into some very advanced hypnotic techniques. I’d never done self hypnosis before. After only a couple of chapters I tried a nonsensical test…while in a self induced trance state I managed to make one hand ice cold and the other burning hot. It’s a fantastic primer for studying Bandler and Grinders’ work in NLP as well; it brings self hypnosis home.

this book it’s all over the place, it lacks structure, how are you suppose to follow the process of self hypnosis if there is no structure, this book should be re-edited.

This is one of the most comprehensive books on self-hypnosis – it covers many of the most-common areas of application: helping you to lose weight, quit smoking, reduce pain, etc.
Structure of hypnosis is very simple – you get into a state of hypnosis, work on your outecome and return to normal conscious awareness. Many hypnosis books provide induction scripts to help people get into a state of hypnosis, and of course you can use them – but hypnosis is not a mechanical process. Success with self-hypnosis comes from having fun with your subjective experience and what you read in books may give you ideas how to go about it, but ultimately self-hypnosis is a very intimate experience that you’ll end up doing your own way.
