There is much confusion regarding what we may have in the way of health care reform. The number of bills, proposals and amendments show this. In addition is there one site which has objective summaries and comparisons of the proposal provisions?

Why does it matter?
The House bill and all amendments will never see the light of day.
obama will eventually get a very watered down, and full of pork to buy democrat votes, version, just so he can say he succeeded, but it will not even come close to what we have today.

Compare features of the bills here:
There really is no consensus yet on any of these bills, so it’s a bit early to say what is (or is not) in “the bill” as so many pundits and fear-mongers are prone to do.

The discussion over the health care reform bills has been confused on purpose by the insurance industry who wants to keep the high premiums, high deductibles, and ability to drop sick people from their coverage or never accept them in the first place.
They have used what’s called “astroturf” groups to do this. These are groups that appear to be grass roots citizen groups but are not. Most people won’t check out who is behind the web site they are getting info from. If they knew they were unpaid operatives for the wealthy insurance companies, they would have a different attitude entirely. But they don’t know this.
The different bills are not finalized so anything you see will not be in it’s final form. The website for the White House does have a good explanation of why so many of the concerns you see voiced at the town hall meetings are unwarranted. All the ranters repeat the same concerns because they have a list of “talking points” that can be traced back to the insurance companies that are funding the fiery outrage websites.

I hear that there are at least 6 different versions of the Health Care Reform bill. The House bill contained over 1000 pages and so far the Senate bill is around 600 pages…per John McCain at his town hall meeting this week. No matter what, the HCR bill is written by lawyers with vague meanings that could be interrupt this way or that way depending which side of the fence you are on. Sorry but I haven’t seen a single company / business that is efficiently run by the Fed’l gov’t. ie. all the stimulus checks sent out to the prison inmates. What a joke.
