Aside from the understandable bad effect on the environment, what is the problem with plastic bottles for drinking from? I have been drinking milk that came in a plastic bottle for over 30 years and I have perfect health. I just don’t get it. Is it a ploy by the environmentalists to get us to stop using plastic or is there any truth in the claim it damages your health?

It’s extremely tiny damage, it shouldn’t affect you at all unless you’re allergic to it. Some people can get cancer from plastic bottles though but it’s very rare.

I’ve been drinking water from the same plastic bottle for 2 months now, and I’m still perfectly fine. Even after my yearly physical, and blood tests, I’m still doing fine.
People will do research to find anything that causes cancer with everything these days.
Hell, I suspect someone will say “breathing too much air causes cancer”

PET bottles are the most commonly used plastic bottles by consumers and it is too soon to say that these are harmful to the human health. But new evidence suggest that Polyethylene Terephthalate bottles may not be so benign after all. It appears that some chemicals may leach to the water.
